School Health Endorsement
We encourage all of our physical education majors to enroll in courses that will lead to additional certification in Health. ÌýThis certification will allow students to teach K-12 Physical Education and Health Education.
The school health endorsement requires students to complete a total of 18 credit hours as prescribed below;
Required Courses (18 credit hours)
- HS 211 - Principles of Health Sciences (3 cr)
- HS 313 - Application of Theories and concepts in Health Education (3 cr)
- HE 432 - The Coordinated School Health Program (3 cr)
- HE 433 - School Health Curriculum (3 cr)
- HE 440 - Sexuality Education in the Home, School, and Community (3 cr)
- HE 442 -Drug Education in the Home, School, and Community (3 cr)

- HE 120 - Personal Health Promotion (2 cr)

Requirements for Licensure in Health
Physical Education majors who complete the prescribed 24 credit hours of coursework in Health Education are prepared for the . ÌýUpon successful completion of this test, physical education majors will be eligible for state licensure to teach Health.
