Biographical Sketch: Alexis Villasenor, MS, is an Adjunct Professor in the School of Law Enforcement and Justice Administration. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Emergency ´ºÓêÖ±²¥, with minors in Spanish and Psychology from ´ºÓêÖ±²¥ Illinois University in 2015. Professor Villasenor earned her Master of Science in Threat and Response ´ºÓêÖ±²¥ at the University of Chicago, Illinois, in June 2020. She completed a capstone sponsored by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, entitled,ÌýTheÌý
Economic Impact of Disrupting Critical NodesÌýWithin the Illinois Railway Infrastructure. Prior to joining the faculty at WIU, Professor Villasenor spent 2 years as a contractor for the Federal Emergency ´ºÓêÖ±²¥ Agency (FEMA), in New York City, NY, and Washington, D.C. Professor Villasenor previously worked as a Program Analyst within the Response Division and the Operations Division at FEMA Headquarters in Washington, D.C.. She has recently accepted a position at the FEMA Region 5 office, in Chicago, as an Emergency ´ºÓêÖ±²¥ Specialist in the Public Assistance Division. Professor Villasenor has a passion for working with disaster survivors and finds it rewarding to be a part of the boots on the ground response after a disaster.
