Dr. McCrary received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Geneva College in Human Resource ΄ΊΣκΦ±²₯, a Master’s of Science in Administration of Justice from Shippensburg University, and a Doctor of Education Degree from Duquesne University.

Dr. McCrary started his work in the field of juvenile justice in 1984, since entering the field of juvenile justice he continued to ask one question, β€œHow can the juvenile justice system improve treatment to meet the social developmental needs of delinquent youth?” Over the years, Dr. McCrary has held numerous positions in the field of juvenile justice. Dr. McCrary has worked for Allegheny County Juvenile Court, Community Intensive Supervision Program, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for 18 years where he was responsible for counseling, designing, implementing and monitoring a progressive treatment program.

Dr. McCrary is the founder of a nonprofit organization entitled; Maleness to Manhood Inc., which is a faith based mentoring program for inner-city youth. Dr. McCrary created Maleness to Manhood Inc. as an approach to mentor young men in the juvenile justice system and also as a preventive approach to delinquency.

In addition to his work for Juvenile Court, Dr. McCrary has worked as a counselor, consultant, therapist and crisis intervention specialist for various organizations and programs.

Dr. McCrary has also worked as an adjunct professor at Carlow University in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, teaching courses in criminology and online courses on Issues in Criminal Justice Policy for the University of Phoenix.
