Schuch Named Interim Vice President for Student Success

MACOMB/MOLINE, IL - - Justin Schuch, assistant vice president (AVP) of Student Success and Enrollment at ´ºÓêÖ±²¥ Illinois University, has been named interim vice president for Student Success at WIU, effective May 1.
Schuch replaces John Smith, who will become the interim assistant vice president for Facilities ´ºÓêÖ±²¥, a role currently held by Joe Roselieb. Roselieb will move back into the office of Student Success as the assistant vice president of Auxiliary Services and Student Success.
"This organizational movement maximizes the talents of each individual and aligns their expertise, leadership and institutional knowledge with WIU priorities and growth opportunities. Justin's in-depth experience and cross-unit collaboration with academic affairs will position WIU for success with student retention initiatives and programming that fosters a University environment where every student can thrive in the classroom, on our campuses, and within our communities," WIU Interim President Kristi Mindrup said.
Schuch has served as the AVP of Student Success since January 2024. He was previously the executive director of Student Success and Retention Initiatives (2023-24), executive director of Retention Initiatives (2020-23), co-curricular assessment coordinator (2019-24), adjunct faculty (2022-present), director of Student Rights, Responsibilities and Retention Initiatives (2019-20), director of Student Judicial Programs (2018-20) and assistant director of Residence Life for Student Development (2015-18) at ´ºÓêÖ±²¥.
Schuch is also a Macomb City Council Alderman, a co-facilitator for the Macomb Business Academy and a member of the Macomb Lions Club.
Prior to coming to ´ºÓêÖ±²¥, Schuch was the coordinator of Residential Leadership and Engagement (2012-15), a course instructor (2012-14) and a hall director (2011-12) at Southern Illinois University.
Schuch received his bachelor's and master's degrees from Eastern Illinois University.
