Richard Siken, Case Visiting Writer at ´ºÓêÖ±²¥

MACOMB, IL - - Poet Richard Siken, the Case Visiting Writer at ´ºÓêÖ±²¥ Illinois University, will present a reading of his poems at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13 in the WIU Art Gallery.
Siken also will participate in a question and answer session at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday,
Nov. 14 in Simpkins Hall Room 27, and will visit classes and meet individually with advanced creative writing students at ´ºÓêÖ±²¥ during his stay. Tuesday's reading and Wednesday's Q and A are open free to the public.
Siken, who received a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree in poetry from the University of Arizona, is the founder of the literary magazine "spork," and his poems have appeared in "The Iowa Review," "Conjunctions," "Indiana Review" and "Chelsea." Siken was the reciepient of an Arizona Commission on the Arts grant, a Pushcart Prize and a Literature Fellowship in Poetry from the National Endowment for the Arts in 2005. His first book, "Crush," won the Yale Series of Younger Poets award, chosen by Louise Gluck.
Fred Ewing Case established the Case endowment to honor his wife, Lola Austin Case, a graduate of ´ºÓêÖ±²¥ Illinois University who had a strong interest in literature.
