Pre-Licensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program
The Pre-Licensure BSN program at the Macomb campus is for students who have completed the pre-nursing requirements and met all other requirements necessary for admittance.
WIU's School of Nursing provides programs of the highest quality that are innovative and use a variety of teaching/learning modalities. Students maximize their career goals by learning from faculty dedicated to teaching, research, and practice. Clinicals are held at a variety of health care facilities in the Macomb and surrounding area.
Upon graduation, pre-licensure students must successfully pass the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX–RN) in order to become a licensed Registered Nurse. Students should plan to take the NCLEX–RN as soon after graduation and completion of their review course as possible. WIU nursing graduates receive pass rates that exceed state and national averages.

Admission
This program is highly competitive. Meeting or exceeding the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission. Students who wish to apply to the School of Nursing for admission to the Nursing major must meet multiple requirements. Prospective Nursing students must apply for and be granted regular admission to ´ºÓêÖ±²¥ Illinois University and declare Pre-Nursing after acceptance to the University.

Nursing Centralized Application Service (NursingCAS)
Students who wish to apply to the School of Nursing for admission to the Nursing major must have an application on file with no later than March 1 for fall admission. If space allows, applications will be accepted until May 31. Qualified applications will be reviewed on a monthly basis for fall admissions.
