For travelers this site is a must visit to find out about various diseases and vaccinations you might need when visiting certain countries around the world. You can also find a wealth of information about hundreds of diseases, find health statistics and other health related topics.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission is charged with protecting the public from unreasonable risks of serious injury or death from more than 15,000 types of consumer products under the agency's jurisdiction. You can find out about product recalls and report unsafe products on the CPSC website.
The Library of Congress website is amazingly diverse.
